Jesus does get a mention this Easter

As you may have already caught on, a group has been set up on Facebook calling for people to download the Delirious? single ‘History Maker’ and to get it to number 1 this Easter Saturday.

I already own this song and didn’t think a lot of the whole idea until I heard Martin Smith (band member) give an interview on 5 Live this evening. As I write this post the current download chart standings are:

itunes: #10, amazon: #1 & #2, hmv: #6 & #7.

This band actually disbanded towards the back-end of last year and never really reached the heights their talent deserved (in my opinion). Radio 1 refused to play their music even though they consistently sold out venues both in the UK and abroad, were much more successful than Robbie Williams in the US and have written their fair share of quality songs.

I have to say that I for one am pleased to see them get some recognition for a great song after what must have been a frustrating career in part. I hope you find the time to at least check out the song on-line. If there was a soundtrack to my life then this would be part of it as it was the first song I performed on British soil after spending 2 weeks on mission in Poland as a raw 18 year old inspired by what I had seen God do.

Please do at least listen to this song and download it if you like it (even if you already own it). It would indeed be a great way to honor a deserved band and an even more deserved God.  He bled and died for our sin one Easter 2010 years ago so we could have a relationship with him.

Thanks for reading. GB
